Description

World Bird Sanctuary was founded in 1977 by Walter C. Crawford Jr. to provide a hospital for sick or injured birds of prey in the St. Louis. As the Temple grew, so did our mission. The World Bird Sanctuary, now located in partnership with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources on 305 acres of hardwood forests in Missouri, is home to more than 200 animals representing more than 60 species from around the world. What started as a small rehabilitation center has grown into an internationally recognized rehabilitation, education and conservation organization.
