Description

It's hard to imagine a place on earth where you can't find birds - places where you don't look up at the sky and see a fly fly over your head, or see a bird jump across the sidewalk, or close your eyes and listen to it. at least someone can sing the song.

Take the Red Knot, a shorebird that migrates to Delaware Bay in the summer to eat horseshoe crab eggs until they are fat enough to fly to the Arctic Circle to breed. Or think of the Baltimore Oriole, a songbird that breeds in summer from Louisiana along the US East Coast to central Canada and then winters in the Caribbean, across Central America and down into northern South America.
