Description
The Skåne Ornithological Association (SkOF) was founded in the spring of 1952 and became the first regional association to become the Swedish Ornithological Association. Initiators include profiles Lund Bertil Hanström, Gustav Rudebeck and Torsten Malmberg. Apart from bird watching, bird protection and the preservation of their habitat have been Scanian's focus since its inception. However, when several board members joined the Department of Zoology at Lund University in the early years, the study of birds quickly assumed an important place in the association's activities.
