In December 1995, a nature-loving computer enthusiast took his first steps on the internet and decided to create the Birds of the Mill website. The author tries to write a file about Lorraine birds. Since 2001, Oiseaux.net has expanded and opened itself up to other ornithology enthusiasts. In 2003, Oiseaux.net changed its status from the personal website of its creators to an associative website with the formation of the association "Écopains d'abord", which aims to work towards greater respect for biodiversity and proACCtection of nature.
To date, 413 people have contributed and continue to contribute to its enrichment. With more than 5 million visits a year, "Oiseaux.net" is now known and recognized worldwide.
