Description
eBird started with a simple idea - that every birder has unique knowledge and experience. Our goal is to collect, archive and freely share this information in the form of a bird checklist to support new data-driven approaches in science, conservation and education. At the same time, we develop tools that make bird watching more useful. From managing entries, photos and audio recordings to displaying real-time species distribution maps to alerts you when a species is spotted, we strive to provide up-to-date and useful information to the bird community.
