Birdworld first opened to the public in 1968 and is run as a family business by Roy Harvey, his wife and children. Over the next 28 years, the park grew and in 1990 Jenny Wren Ranch was added.
In the early 1990s, the next generation took over the day job, but in 1996 they decided to devote themselves to other endeavors. Currently the owner of a neighboring company, Denys E. Head Ltd, bought Birdworld to make it into
