Bird Protection Quebec

We are cross-stakeholders (see below) on environmental issues and nature conservation.
We provide significant financial grants for important ornithology research projects in Quebec – something unique to a group like ours and growing in importance as traditional sources of funding are less willing or able to work with scientists.
We work with major national and regional organizations such as Nature Conservancy Canada and Regroupement Québec Oiseaux to conserve and protect wildlife habitats
We own and manage a number of bird sanctuaries in Quebec, including one recognized as "Internationally Important".
We run weekly guided tours of bird-rich sites, which we invite both the public and our members to participate in, allowing us to experience birds and their importance up close.
We have monthly lectures on bird related topics that are not free for anyone
We run educational programs in collaboration with local environmental educators and others.
We provide valuable information and data about birds and bird habitats to individuals and organizations who may use them
We encourage and encourage the public to join many very important citizen science projects - including doing two Christmas Bird Counts, a huge undertaking we have been working on for decades.
We do all of this solely through the hard work of volunteers, keeping our overhead costs as low as possible
